The rest of 2020 will look different. Even though I believe we will be allowed to gather and have small ceremonies , I do not think that very large, crowded gatherings will be coming back this year.
-
People will continue to get married – and they should! Elopements and intimate ceremonies are so special and we think summer and fall 2020 couples should have this as their backup plan.
-
Priorities will and should shift. This wedding? It is about the start of your marriage, nothing else. There is no detail, no vendor, no song more important than you and your partner committing your lives to each other (hopefully in front of small groups of friends/family!)
Given all of this, and after an immense amount of processing and prayer, we have come to the conclusion that what we will offer to 2020 and 2021 couples will look a bit different. We have worked hard to pare down our offerings and create packages perfect for this unique season, in addition to our full packages. The fact of the matter is that people will continue to get married, and we will continue to document their stories.
As soon as it is safe to do so, we will be offer elopement and intimate wedding packages. We have a curated list of locations we love and are perfect for these small ceremonies! Below is a list of our favorite options right now (we have confirmed they are offering to host ceremonies with 10 guests or fewer):
-
An overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway (ask us about our favorites!)
Here is how this works: you email us, we probably scream because we are so excited to be able to photograph something! We help you pick a location, send you a list of our favorite florists, officiants, dress/tux rental options, and of course – dinner + dessert. We then get to work helping to coordinate and ease some of the burden on you all. We help you pick a perfect time for the ceremony so that we can have some of that gorgeous golden-y sunshine evening light for your portraits. Then we get you married!!
The best part? We want to keep this affordable and so we made these packages deeply discounted. You get everything listed above, 2 hours of photography and a wedding album to remember this sweet time for $1500.
It is truly nothing much different than we are already doing for our current clients right now, but we wanted to open it up to other Virginia couples who are struggling with this decision.
So – if you are a Virginia couple looking to elope or have an intimate ceremony in the next year or so, email us. Let’s chat and at least let me ease your mind and tell you all about your great options to still make this the most special day!
P.S. That photo up top? Taken on April 3rd at the height of the COVID-19 craziness. Special thank you to Sara at Faded Poppy for creating Megan’s gorgeous bouquet. This is still possible and most importantly, it is still possible to do it safely. Let’s get you married.
